I need advice....

Okay....so for a long time I've wanted to be in the position to take a job as a crisis counselor/coordinator or victim advocate. Based on my experiences, the people in these jobs tend to be the one person that people who find themselves to be victims can depend on. I think that my experiences with all the systems would be a real benefit. I was doing a job search today and found an open position for a victim advocate in Bowling Green (about 35 mins away). The only thing that I don't have is "1 yr experience with domestic violence and crisis intervention" but I believe my experience as an apartment manager playing counselor, fight-breaker, etc as well as dealing with the domestic violence and crisis issues as they arrise should count.....So my question to you is this:

Poll #306525 Should I apply for the job as the Victim Advocate?

Should I apply?

yes
4(66.7%)
no
0(0.0%)
yes, but don't get your hopes up
2(33.3%)
no, are you crazy?
0(0.0%)

Do you think it will matter that I do not have the one years experience mentioned above?

yes
0(0.0%)
no
3(50.0%)
yes, but it's worth a shot anyway
2(33.3%)
no, but who knows I could be crazy
1(16.7%)

wow....and I mean that...wow!

My friend Catherine, just sent her husband down to the office with a present for me! It was absolutely the best present I've gotten in an extremely long time! The funniest part is that I went shopping with her yesterday and the present is made up of the stuff that I helped her pick out....but she has morphed them into a fabulous fabulous gift. There's this little box that she covered in the prettiest art paper (flowers embedded, very nice) and she pasted a fairy picture on it (i love fairies). Inside the box are all these little folded pieces of paper with writing prompts on them, like: "What do you think brings good or bad luck?" "How did your father spend his time supporting his family?" etc. But wait folks! That's not all. She also sent this awesome binder that she found yesterday that has Oriental (sorry don't know if it's Chinease or Japonease) writing on it and then says "Meditation", which is the one I liked best yesterday :) lol...It's filled with paper and a poem. I love the little poem "Preserve your memories, seal them up well. What you forget, you can never retell. But a journal that's kept fresh on the shelf, will help someone through rough times, maybe even yourself."

*sigh* of complete happiness.....the only problem with this gift is that she wasn't here for me to hug her :)...silly fool, doesn't she know that I MUST hug her for this gift? :)

totally gacked from danu_2u

1. Take your LJ username and replace each letter with the corresponding number (A=1, B=2, etc...). If your name contains numbers, you'll need to convert them to letters first before you can convert to numbers.

emaleythe: 5+13+1+12+5+25+20+8+5

2. Add all of the numbers together to create a kind of super number.

94

3. Make a note of the first digit of this number, then add the digits of the number together.

First digit is 9. Total is 13

4. Find the post of this number in your LJ. If you don't have that many posts, add the digits together again. Keep doing so until the number is smaller than your pathetic number of posts.

5. Take the digit you noted in step 3, and count that many words into the post.

"stupid"

6. Use the resulting word in a Google Image Search, and select a picture from the first page.

Madness ensues!

Okay, I'VE HAD IT! Someone better tell me about Dom Monahan's bracelets before I die! I've read rumor after rumor that they are cock rings, bondage cuffs, etc....but I want some proof. I want a link to someplace where Dom has said anything about the wonderful bracelets or from anyone who has heard anything about them....TELL ME, TELL ME NOW!....the story shall not continue until I have my answer....and no, google doesn't help...
